J.K. Rowling, the author of "Harry Potter" and known for her controversial views on gender issues, has commented on the selection of Sarah Owen as the chair of the Women and Equalities Committee. The British writer did not hide her agitation.

J.K. Rowling, once widely liked, has become highly controversial in some circles due to her confrontational views, which she has openly expressed on social media for years.

The Brit gained fame through the "Harry Potter" books, which became a global phenomenon, resulting in a franchise generating millions of dollars. Movies, clothing, gadgets, and toys continue to expand the universe, with a series remake being produced by MAX 20 years after the release of the first film, which only confirms this enduring popularity.

J.K. Rowling created a series that for many is synonymous with childhood. She had a significant opportunity to maintain this comfortable status as a respected writer and the person responsible for magical memories. Unfortunately, Rowling revealed herself to hold transphobic views, leading many fans to completely dissociate her from her work. To complicate matters further, the writer also clashed with part of the original cast, including Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, who criticized her intolerance.

It doesn't appear the writer will change her stance. She increasingly causes a stir on social media by speaking negatively about transgender people.

"Madness." J.K. Rowling criticizes British politician

"So the interests of British women and girls are now in the hands of a politician who can't define what a woman is, but is certain that men are women if they say so. Great news," wrote J.K. Rowling on social media, referring to the selection of Sarah Owen as the chair of the Women and Equalities Committee. Owen is a journalist, Member of Parliament for the Labour Party, and activist who clearly supports the rights of LGBT people.

J.K. Rowling's post went viral. At the time of writing, it had been viewed over 380,000 times and had received numerous responses.

"Jo! A woman is someone who identifies as a woman. Don't ask us to define what it means to identify as a woman - that's problematic." "Another party that doesn't appreciate women and their lives. Where are the politicians who actually like women and want to defend their rights?" "Our world has turned upside down." "We live in frightening times," wrote various internet users. Under J.K. Rowling's post, most people agreed with her statement and criticized politics and "modern times".
