British influencer wanted to lose extra kilograms, and Turkish doctors aided her. A year after the bariatric surgery, Catlin Horrox shows off her stomach on TikTok and openly discusses what she went through to shed the extra weight.

Bariatric surgery is an increasingly popular way to combat obesity. The British influencer explained the procedure in detail on her channel. She also straightforwardly warned about the consequences of the surgery.

The 24-year-old had been struggling with excess weight for years, using various weight-loss methods, but doctors in her country, she claims, did not want to perform bariatric surgery on her, which led her to undergo the procedure in Turkey.

A year after the procedure, Catlin Horrox decided to talk about the health costs of her decision. Although she managed to lose as much as 90 kilograms in such a short time, the stomach reduction surgery did not leave her health unaffected.

Catlin admitted that the level of care in the Turkish hospital surprised her, and the care in Istanbul turned out to be simply "brilliant." However, the procedure took a heavy toll on her health, and she still feels its consequences today.

Since the surgery, I vomit daily and end up in the hospital on a drip because I'm dehydrated. I will be taking vitamin D and calcium for the rest of my life because I'm on the verge of bone fragility. Before, I was completely healthy despite being obese—she said.

It's all because the procedure wasn't performed correctly

The problem turned out to be the esophagus, which was probably too narrow. Catlin explains that she can't digest food and throws it up.

I tell people to be very aware of their decisions and expect the unexpected. This surgery is not a quick fix. It's for life. It can't be undone, so definitely check all options. It is an absolutely amazing surgery that has saved so many lives, but I encourage people to always be aware of the potential risks associated with it—Catlin explains in a video posted on TikTok.
