The holiday season is in full swing, and owners of hotels and dining establishments in popular tourist locations are particularly pleased. Bars, restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs near beaches, lakes, landmarks, or mountains are flooded daily with tourists looking for a place to relax or have fun. Although most guests behave impeccably, sometimes venues have to resort to their blacklist.
A tourist in Greece forgot to pay the bill
The Greek islands are swarmed by tourists every year. One of the most popular is Mykonos, located in the Cyclades archipelago. On this island, measuring a little over 100 square kilometres, there are numerous restaurants, cafes, and nightclubs. SantAnna, an establishment located in Platis Gialos, is immensely popular among partygoers.
Last week, police officers were called to SantAnna at the request of the owner. This was due to the behaviour of one guest, who forgot the necessity of paying the bill. According to the "Greek Reporter" portal, the man is a businessman from Israel who was partying at the club with his friends. During the party, the Israelis drank many drinks, ordered a huge amount of sushi, and also two bottles of vintage champagne worth $43,000 CAD each. One of the bottles, after being opened, was thrown into the pool located on the club's premises.
The SantAnna club lost $100,000 CAD
In total, the bill issued to the Israeli businessman amounted to $143,000 CAD. However, the man paid only part of the massive sum. The mysterious man settled the cost of one bottle of champagne, which is $43,000 CAD, and then left the SantAnna club, leaving behind a bill unpaid to the sum of $100,000 CAD. The police were called to the scene and announced that they would question the Israeli businessman. It is unknown whether the man will face other consequences besides being ordered to settle the payment.
