Maddie Lambert-Crowley, who became a mother at 13, recently spoke about her journey to motherhood and her plans for the future. Although she started her parenting adventure very early, now, at 20 years old, she has two children and dreams of having a large family — she would like to have up to four kids.
Do I want more kids? Yes, people think I'm crazy, but I think we definitely want at least two more kids - she admitted, quoted by "The Sun."
She revealed that many people did not expect her decision.
People think: "I know I've done this crazy switch up; people are like, ‘Oh, Maddie's the smart Teen Mum, she's not going and having a bunch more kids right away. But honestly, I want a big family. I want to fill my house with love. Even though I'm young, I'm at an age where I can financially support my kids, emotionally support my kids, and give them a good life. I think those three qualifiers make me more qualified to be a parent than somebody who is 30 years old - she added.
Hhe became a mother at 13. "I don't recommend it"
In September 2023, Maddie married her beloved Randy. At that time, she was already pregnant with her second child, Ryder. She has her first child with someone else.
The 20-year-old confidently says that age does not matter when it comes to being a parent.
I don’t think age has anything to do with your ability to be a parent - she said.
Maddie is aware, however, that motherhood at a young age is not suitable for everyone.
I don't recommend having children as a teenager because at that time you don't yet know what you need to know to be a parent - she summarized.
She also did not hide that when she became pregnant at 13, she faced many negative reactions. - I had people send me the address to abortion clinics when I was about seven months pregnant - she continued.
She simultaneously evaluated the belief that pregnancy at a young age should not be seen as something for which young girls should be criticized.
