Classic recipe for peasant pot

Ingredients:

  • 300 grams bacon (raw or smoked),
  • 300-400 grams sausage,
  • 450 grams potatoes,
  • 2-3 carrots,
  • 1 large onion,
  • 1 bell pepper (yellow or red),
  • 2 garlic cloves,
  • Small package of tomato paste,
  • 375 millilitres of water or vegetable broth,
  • salt, pepper, hot and sweet paprika, marjoram,
  • oil or olive oil.

Preparation:

  1. Golden base: Chop the onion and crush the garlic through a press. Sauté in oil until translucent. Add diced bacon and sausage, fry until browned.
  2. Vegetable mix: Add diced bell pepper, potatoes, and sliced carrots to the meat. Pour in the broth and season with spices.
  3. Simmering: Simmer covered for about 20 minutes until the vegetables are tender. Add tomato paste, bring to boil.
  4. Final touches: Season to taste with salt and pepper. Done!
