A local foundation in Sardinia is offering three free nights' stay on an Italian island. The foundation invites guests from all over the world. However, only a few can take advantage of this generous offer and local attractions. What matters is the travellers' age and the program the hosts have for them.

Recently, Sardinia has been surprising with original ideas on how to increase tourist traffic.

First, the mayor of San Vero Milis, Luigi Tedeschi, announced that local authorities want to allow nudism enthusiasts to organize weddings on their beloved Is Benas beach. Now, a foundation on the island offers tourists three free nights' stay.

But two conditions must be met to spend a few days on the Italian island for free. One of them is a pre-determined sightseeing route, for which the originators recommend touring the Santa Barbara mining trail located southwest of Sardinia.

The entire trail is about 500 kilometres long and leads into the forest. Along the way, there is no shortage of scenic attractions, such as archaeological sites, vineyards, and the coastal shoreline.

On the route, you can visit the San Giovanni Domusnovas cave, the Piscinas dunes, and the limestone cliff Pan di Zucchero. The trail is divided into 30 segments of about 16 kilometres each, and those wanting to take advantage of the accessible accommodations must dedicate three days to it.

But that's not the only condition that those wishing to take advantage of this unusual offer must meet. The action organizers will also be checking age. To sleep for free for three days in charming Sardinia, you must be under 35 years old.

Those who wish to take advantage of the offer must also purchase a tourist pass from the Cammino Minerario di Santa Barbara Foundation (CMSB), which is organizing the event. The pass costs only $7.
