Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov summarized the presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. He stated, among other things, that they used Vladimir Putin's name for internal political strife. "We really didn't like it," Peskov thundered.

Many pieces of information provided by Russian media or government representatives are elements of propaganda. Such reports are part of the information war conducted by the Russian Federation.

On Wednesday early morning Eastern Time, the first debate between the candidates in the U.S. presidential election, Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, took place. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov joined the ranks of international commentators.

Peskov stated, among other things, that Kamala Harris and Donald Trump used Vladimir Putin's name for political maneuvering. "We really, really didn't like it," the Kremlin spokesperson warned.

In his opinion, the United States has a hostile attitude towards Russia. He also expressed hope that the candidates will stop referring to Putin in such a manner.

The topic of Ukraine in the presidential debate

During Tuesday's debate, Kamala Harris said, among other things, that if Trump were president, "Putin would already be in Kyiv". She added that if it weren't for the actions of the Democrats, including current President Joe Biden in support of Ukraine, Putin would have won the war and "had his eye on the rest of Europe, starting with Poland".

Trump, on the other hand, claimed that Harris met with Putin just before Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. He also said that Putin and others consider Harris and Biden to be "weak" and "pathetic".

Last week, the White House urged that Putin should stop commenting on the U.S. elections. Earlier, the Russian dictator stated that he "supports" Harris in the presidential election because she has "such an expressive and contagious laugh" that it indicates "everything is okay with her".

"Former U.S. President Donald Trump imposed as many different restrictions and sanctions against Russia as no president before. And if everything is okay with Harris, then perhaps she will refrain from similar actions," Putin announced.
