It is now known that the body found in January belongs to 16-year-old Amanda Overstreet. To recap, the freezer contained the head and hands of the teenager. Investigators identified a bullet hole on the girl's forehead. Preliminary findings by the investigators indicate that the girl was shot and then dismembered. The gruesome murder was an execution.
The body of the 16-year-old was found by a man who, in 2023, bought the house in Grand Junction, Colorado. The buyer purchased the property from 55-year-old Leanne Imer. "Daily Mail" reports that the building was in terrible condition. No one had lived there for a long time, and it required extensive repairs.
The buyer was cleaning the house after the previous owner found a working freezer in the garage. When he opened it, he saw the body of Amanda Overstreet. It is now known that the Mesa County Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation into the girl who had been missing for years. DNA tests have already confirmed her identity.
The 16-year-old was the daughter of the previous owner
Amanda Overstreet was last seen in April 2005. The girl was the daughter of the previous owner of the house. She was declared missing. Currently, investigators are exploring various leads in the case of her murder.
The mother of the 16-year-old maintains that Amanda was on a road trip with her stepfather. She was reported missing during the trip. Investigators cannot directly verify Leanne Imer's words, as Bradley Imer (Amanda Overstreet's stepfather) died in 2021 due to COVID-19.
