Ukraine conflict: British Foreign Minister calls for more allied resolve
David Lammy, British Foreign Minister, emphasized the importance of courage and determination among Ukraine's allies in the face of the ongoing conflict. According to Lammy, Ukraine should now be allowed to use the weapons provided to it to attack targets inside Russia.

In his speech at the annual Labour Party conference in Liverpool, which began on Sunday, David Lammy warned of the growing challenges related to the war in Ukraine. He says these difficulties will be "deeper and sharper," especially as the conflict approaches "the end of 2025 and into 2026."
"This is a critical time for nerve and for guts and for patience and for fortitude on behalf of allies who stand with Ukraine," Lammy emphasized, which, according to many, was an allusion to the United States. The US fears that allowing Ukraine to use the provided weapons for attacks on Russia could lead to an escalation of the conflict.
Talks with the US regarding Ukraine
Last week, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer met with Joe Biden in Washington, and this issue was certainly one of the discussion topics. Nonetheless, no decisions have been made so far. On Saturday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once again appealed to Biden for permission to carry out long-range attacks on Russian territory.
Lammy indicated that talks on this issue are still ongoing. As Foreign Minister, I will not comment on operational details, as this could only aid (Vladimir) Putin. But allies are discussing in real time how we can support Ukraine as winter approaches, he said.
The Minister also informed the United Kingdom and the other G7 countries that they would take action against Russian disinformation aimed at the Global South and "take on Putin's lies."
