Donald Trump publicly spoke at the National Congress of the Republican Party for the first time since the attack. After his speech, Trump’s wife, Melania, appeared on stage. The Republican candidate wanted to kiss his beloved. Comments appeared online, suggesting that an awkward situation occurred.

Trump began his speech by formally accepting the Republican Party’s nomination for president for the third time during the National Republican Convention in Milwaukee. "So tonight, with faith and devotion, I proudly accept your nomination for president of the United States," he said.

After a long speech, his wife, Melania Trump, joined him on stage. In the video, you can see her holding his waist, after which Trump reached out to hug Melania. However, he withdrew at the last moment.

Trump then moved closer to kiss his wife, but Melania offered only her cheek. Comments appeared online suggesting that an awkward scene occurred.

Trump publicly spoke for the first time

The former president publicly spoke about the attack on him for the first time. "You’ll never hear it from me a second time, because it’s actually too painful to tell," he emphasized. The crowd fell silent as Trump recounted the shooting.

"I heard a loud whizzing sound and felt something hit me really, really hard. On my right ear. I said to myself, 'Wow, what was that? It can only be a bullet.' And moved my right hand to my ear, brought it down. My hand was covered with blood. Just absolutely blood all over the place. I immediately knew it was very serious. That we were under attack. And in one movement proceeded to drop to the ground. Bullets were continuing to fly as very brave Secret Service agents rushed to the stage," Trump recounted.

"There was blood pouring everywhere, and yet in a certain way I felt very safe because I had God on my side. I felt that. I’m not supposed to be here tonight. Not supposed to be here," Trump continued.
