Pope Francis and Jeff Bezos Discuss Climate at Vatican Meeting

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez quickly stopped in Vatican City during their summer trip around Europe. While there, they had the honour of attending an audience with Pope Francis. The billionaire's fiancée noted that they found common ground with the Holy Father.

On a whim, he left the United States with his fiancée in mid-July, boarded a private jet, and arrived in Europe, enjoying a vacation like a seasoned tourist on a leisure trip.

After several weeks of basking in the sun and sipping colourful drinks with little umbrellas, the 60-year-old wealthy man and his beloved, Lauren Sanchez, quite unexpectedly checked in at the Vatican. On August 15, the couple crossed the walls of the Domus Sanctae Marthae, where Pope Francis resides. A report of this surprising meeting appeared on the journalist's Instagram profile.

The opportunity to meet the Pope in person is an incredible privilege known only to a select few, including some of the most powerful people in the world. Until now, finding connections between the world-famous entrepreneur and the Holy Father has been hard. Their only common denominator seemed to be their mutual presence on a list of the 50 greatest leaders published 10 years ago.

However, during the photo-documented Tuesday visit, they had plenty to talk about. Lauren Sanchez posted a message of thanks, highlighting the great significance of this high-level meeting.
