Pharrell Williams advocates for the return of fine arts at the Olympics

Pharrell Williams, the well-known musician and designer, has undertaken an ambitious challenge - he wants to bring back fine arts competitions to the Olympic Games programme. During a recent event by Louis Vuitton in Paris, the artist presented his vision, which could revive a tradition forgotten for nearly 80 years.

"The Olympics once had arts competitions. Sculpture, architecture, visual arts. Let’s remind everyone of that legacy and seize this moment to bring awareness," Williams suggested.

The event, which took place on the eve of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, aimed to raise social awareness about the possibility of reincorporating fine arts into the Olympic programme. Pharrell Williams desires that by 2028, when the next summer Olympics are held, fine arts will return to the Olympic arenas.
