Veterinarian's advice: Five popular dog breeds to reconsider
When choosing a dog, it is essential to consider all the pros and cons in advance carefully. According to a popular veterinarian on TikTok, there are five breeds he would never choose, and he pointed out specific reasons for this.
Amir Anwary is a veterinarian who is actively growing his TikTok account, where he has already gathered 727,000 followers. Recently, he decided to share his opinion about popular dog breeds that many people dream of having. Unfortunately, his insights were not very encouraging.
The veterinarian warns about cute dog breeds
A dog can be a true friend to humans. However, it is essential to remember that dogs have their needs, often determined by their genetics. Some dogs require a lot of exercise, while others love to lounge on the couch. Amir Anwary did not hide that, as an experienced veterinarian, he would never decide on as many as five breeds. First, he mentioned dachshunds.
- They can be a cute breed, but they can be very stubborn, bark all night, and have very strong separation anxiety. They are also prone to a condition called IVDD, which is a disease of the intervertebral disc, basically meaning problems with their backs.
The specialist also emphasized that these dogs often become obese, which can further impact their health.
The next dogs the veterinarian warned about were French bulldogs. The specialist revealed that these types of dogs often appear in his office due to issues with breathing, skin, or backs.
Dog breeds the veterinarian would not choose
Amir Anwary admitted that a Belgian Malinois would never appear in his home. - It's not just a dog. It's a machine - he stated. According to the veterinarian, a person working full-time would not be able to give it enough attention.
- It requires constant physical and mental stimulation. (...) If it doesn't develop, it becomes destructive.
Also on the list of breeds the specialist would avoid is the border collie, which, like the Malinois, requires a lot of attention and time from its guardian.
It turns out that the veterinarian would also never choose the extremely popular Labrador in recent years.
- It is a breed that is very prone to being overweight. They love to eat absolutely everything. (...) I love giving my dog treats, so my Labrador would roll everywhere, which is why I could never have one.
