This cake has earned the title of lazy daughter-in-law because of its simplicity in preparation, which can be seen as a compliment. Just toss the ingredients into a bowl, mix them together, put the batter in the oven, and arm yourself with a bit of patience.
Apple Cake could just as well be called resourceful instead of lazy daughter-in-law. The art is to make something delicious without putting in too much effort and without worrying that something won't turn out right. Even an amateur can handle this recipe without fear of underbaked dough or collapse.
