Kristina Karyagina became the centre of media attention many years ago when her struggle to regain her health was publicized. The problems began in high school when she started eating less and less due to stress. The situation worsened when she began studying law. Year by year, her weight decreased, and Karyagina had serious health problems. At a critical moment, she weighed only 17 kg. Today, she fights to regain her health.
Health difficulties and battle with anorexia
Despite graduating from law school, Kristina could not take on a normal job due to her severely underweight condition. At her worst, she weighed just 17 kg, preventing her from getting out of bed alone. A turning point was her participation in the program "Let Them Talk" in 2016, which opened her eyes to the gravity of the situation and prompted her to start an unequal fight with anorexia.
She then understood that her life was at risk. In the years following the airing of that episode, Kristina doubled her weight, but she still has a long way to go to full recovery. Three years later, in 2019, she admitted in a post on Telegram that she has a disability certificate and that her organs are still regenerating. However, she assured me that she does not intend to give up.
Since 2019, I have had an indefinite disability certificate. All of this is due to poor nutrition. The weight is not, of course, what it should be, but it has increased significantly. – she wrote.
This is what Kristina looks like today
The V1 editorial team recently contacted Karyagina and learned that her recovery process is still ongoing. The woman has not yet reached the minimum weight of 45 kg recommended by doctors, but her life is no longer in danger. However, Kristina has serious problems with her spine and legs, which force her to use a wheelchair.
Modern technologies have enabled her to take on a normal job that she performs remotely from home. Her passions are books and drawing, to which she devotes most of her free time. Today, she looks completely different, indicating the worst moments behind her.
