Jagr bids farewell: A hockey legend's final season
Jaromir Jagr has been playing professional ice hockey for 37 years. After nearly two decades of playing in the NHL, he returned to his homeland, where he represents HC Kladno. It is now known when his sports career will end.
Jaromir Jagr, the 52-year-old hockey legend, has announced the end of his professional career. Jagr currently plays for the Kladno Knights team in the Czech Republic, which he also owns.
On his Instagram, he announced that this season would be his last, which he confirmed in an interview with "The Athletic."
Jagr last played in the NHL in the 2017-2018 season, playing 22 games for the Calgary Flames. He began his career by playing for 11 seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins and then for teams including the New York Rangers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Washington Capitals.
In February of this year, the Penguins organized a ceremony during which they retired number 68, which Jagr wore.

The five-time Hart Trophy winner, awarded to the best player of the season, is the second-highest scorer in NHL history in terms of points.
This week, Jagr began his 37th professional season by assisting in a goal for Kladno in a 5-1 loss to Pardubice. It was the first season opener he had played since leaving the Calgary Flames.
Despite being in poor form and taking a break from training due to a muscle injury, Jagr emphasized that he needs more games to return to optimal condition.
