Panicle hydrangea is one of the most popular garden plants. If you want it to dazzle with its flowers even in late fall, try this method from an experienced gardener.

Panicle hydrangea is a species of plant from the hydrangea family. It naturally occurs in China, Japan, and the Asian part of Russia. It blooms from June to October. However, everything depends on how it is cared for. How do you take care of the hydrangea to enjoy it for as long as possible? Learn the method of an experienced gardener.

How to care for hydrangeas?

Hydrangeas adorn many gardens and urban spaces. During the blooming period, lush flower clusters appear on the shrub. Their colour varies depending on the species. The most popular varieties include "Grandiflora," "Limelight," and "Fire Light."

How do you care for the hydrangea? Provide it with an appropriate location. The plant feels best in a moderately sunny, wind-protected spot. Don't forget about good soil. It should be humus-rich, fertile, clayey, and porous, with a slightly acidic pH. Water it at least twice a week, being careful not to overwater it. During heat waves, the watering frequency is increased.

Crush and mix with water. The hydrangea will bend under the flowers

The hydrangea should be pruned in spring, just before the blooming period. This procedure will strengthen the stems and stimulate the plant for vigorous growth. The wilted flower clusters should be removed, and the stems should be shortened by about 10 centimetres.

If you want the hydrangea to bend under the flowers even in late fall, prepare this simple, homemade nutrient. It abounds in ingredients such as potassium, phosphorus, and nitrogen. You will need 100 grams of baker's yeast, 1 full cup of sugar, and 10 litres of lukewarm water. Start by crushing the yeast with the sugar. Set them aside for two hours. After this time, add them to the 10 litres of water and mix thoroughly. Place the prepared mixture in a dark and cool place for a week. After a week, the fertilizer is ready to use.

Before use, the fertilizer should be diluted with water in a 1:10 ratio. Apply it from June until the second half of September. Repeat the procedure once every two weeks, and the hydrangea will dazzle even in October.
