The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has reported a threat of drone attacks in Tatarstan. In several districts of the city, residents heard explosions.

As a result, the Federal Air Transport Agency announced that the city airport was closed.

"To ensure the safety of civilian aircraft flights, temporary restrictions were introduced this morning on the operation of Kazan Airport. The air harbor is temporarily not accepting or dispatching flights," stated a department representative.

Local Telegram channels report that a fire broke out at the premises of the aviation university and aircraft factories. The drones in Kazan were likely targeting these facilities and helicopters.

Kazan in the crosshairs of Ukrainians

This is another attack on the city in recent times. At the end of December, at least six drones targeted buildings in Kazan - most of them hit multi-storey residential buildings.

Kazan is home to a powder factory, crucial for producing Iskander and Kalibr missiles, which are destroying Ukraine. To protect this facility, Putin's army decided to neutralize the drones over residential buildings, resulting in crashes into skyscrapers.

At that time, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin threatened Ukraine with "great destruction" following the attack. "Whoever, and however much they try to destroy, they will face many times more destruction themselves and will regret what they are trying to do in our country," Putin warned.
