Limescale on fixtures is a problem many of us face every day. Hard water, rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium, accumulates as stubborn deposits that not only spoil the aesthetics but can also block the water flow. Fortunately, there are natural methods that effectively assist in cleaning the faucet.
A plastic bag not just for shopping. It cleans dried dirt and limescale
Vinegar is one of the oldest and most popular ways to combat deposits. It's an easily accessible and inexpensive product, and the trick with its use doesn't require much effort. It's worth trying an effective method using a disposable plastic bag to remove limescale and stains from the faucet. How do you do it?
Fill the plastic bag with vinegar (about halfway), and then place it over the dirty faucet so that stains and limescale are inside the bag. Secure the "package" with a clip, adhesive tape, or a rubber band to keep it on the faucet. Vinegar effectively softens the deposits, making the faucet shine again without the need for harsh detergents.
Keep the plastic bag on the fixtures for about half an hour. Then rinse the faucet with lukewarm water and wipe it dry with a clean cloth. It should shine like never before.
Citrus fruits in fixture care
Another effective method for cleaning the faucet is using a grapefruit. This juicy fruit, combined with salt, creates a natural cleaning paste perfect for removing limescale deposits. Prepare the paste by mixing the pulp of half a grapefruit with about 60 grams of salt. Apply the mixture to the soiled area and leave it for an hour. Then clean everything with a brush or sponge. Even old, stubborn deposits will disappear effortlessly.
A well-known alternative to vinegar is citric acid. Simply mix it with water, pour it into a spray bottle, and use it as a mist for limescale deposits. Spray it on the faucet, and after waiting about 60 minutes, wipe off the remaining paste with a damp sponge. This method not only effectively removes deposits but also provides a fresh fragrance in the bathroom.
