Burnt residues on a pan are a common problem that even the best homemakers face. Fortunately, there’s a simple and effective way to remove them using ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen – eggshells and a carbonated drink like cola.
So, if you're preparing scrambled eggs or another egg-based meal, don't throw away the shells; save them for later. You might find them helpful sooner than you think.
Eggshells and cola will help you get rid of dirt
I bet you never thought of combining these two ingredients. After all, what could cola have to do with eggshells? It turns out that with these two products, you can quickly eliminate burns from pans and pots.
What needs to be done? First, place the shells from 5 eggs in a bowl. Before adding the drink, it's worth breaking them up a bit. Next, add 200 ml of cola. Don’t worry if it’s somewhat flat. Now, blend the mixture so the shells grind to a fine powder. Once you achieve this, pour the mixture into a taller container. Add 100 ml of dish soap and 100 ml of water. You can also add a teaspoon of baking soda to strengthen the mixture, but be careful as it can foam up a lot.
Mix everything and pour it into a bottle with a pump. Keep this prepared liquid for cleaning burnt pans close to the sink. Combining eggshells, cola, dish soap, and water creates a highly effective cleaning agent for burnt pots.
This homemade mixture easily removes stubborn dirt, grease, and burns from metal surfaces that other agents can’t handle. However, avoid using it on delicate Teflon surfaces, as the shell particles can scratch them.
