Fat, dirt, and food residues accumulate in the sink, creating an unsightly, greasy film. How can you thoroughly clean a dirty sink? Discover the recipe for a homemade cleaning paste that will restore its former shine.

The sink is one of those places that is particularly prone to getting dirty. Grease, dirt, or food residues settle on it every day. Dishwashing liquid or dish soap doesn't always effectively deal with the contaminants. In such cases, you need more potent agents.

How can you thoroughly clean the sink? Discover the recipe for a homemade cleaning paste that works well with ceramic, granite, or stainless steel sinks. Everything you need is likely already in your home.

Mix with water and rub into the sink. In an hour, it will look like new

Fat, water, tea, coffee, food residues—just a few things that settle on the sink daily. Over time, unsightly discolorations may appear. How can you get rid of them? Prepare a homemade cleaning paste with four simple ingredients: baking soda, toothpaste, laundry powder, and water.

Grab a bowl and add 60 grams of baking soda. Add 30 grams of laundry powder and toothpaste and 45 millilitres of water. Mix all the ingredients, and apply the prepared mixture to the sink's surface. Rub it thoroughly using a sponge and leave it for an hour or two hours in the case of heavy dirt.

After this time, rinse the sink with water and dry it thoroughly. There will be no trace of discolorations and dirt, and adding toothpaste will leave a pleasant smell emanating from the drain. This method works well for granite, ceramic, and stainless steel sinks.

Spray the sink and leave it overnight. Forget about limescale

The sink is in constant contact with water. After some time, limescale may appear on its surface. How can you clean the sink without scrubbing? Use old, reliable citric acid. Mix it with water in a 1:3 ratio, and pour the prepared solution into a spray bottle. Spray the sink and leave it overnight. In the morning, wipe the surface with a clean, damp cloth, and there will be no trace of limescale.
