Limescale is an unsightly, white deposit that accumulates in kettles, toilet bowls, and faucets. How can you get rid of it? Discover a method that eliminates the need for detergents.

Limescale forms as a result of the precipitation of calcium and magnesium salts. These minerals accumulate in fixtures, creating an unsightly residue. How can you remove limescale? There are several effective ways to do this, but most require a detergent.

If you are a fan of natural solutions, try the following method. It is safe, effective, and ecological, eliminating the need for chemical cleaning agents.

How to get rid of limescale from the faucet?

Hard water is a problem in many Canadian homes. It contains high calcium and magnesium salts, accumulating on the skin, hair, or fixtures. After a few days, a white or brown deposit appears that does not come off, even with a sponge. How can you get rid of limescale from the faucet? You can choose from ready-made cleaning agents or use products you already have at home.

One of these products is vinegar. Pour it on the faucet and wait 10-15 minutes. After this time, wipe it with a clean sponge. Scrubbing is unnecessary, as the acid will effectively dissolve the limescale. If you do not like the smell of vinegar, you can replace it with citric acid. Remember to wear gloves before cleaning.

Roll it into a ball and wipe the faucet. Forget about limescale

There is another way to deal with limescale on fixtures. It does not require the use of detergents, not even homemade ones. You only need one item you most likely already have at home: aluminum foil.

How can you clean a faucet with aluminum foil? Roll it into a ball, moisten it with water, and rub the faucet. Soon, the limescale will disappear from the surface. Do not worry about damage—the foil will not scratch the steel. This method also works for cleaning the shower cabin or toilet bowl.

An aluminum foil ball also works with laundry, acting like a fabric softener. Throw it into the full drum and run your chosen program. The foil softens the water and prevents fabrics from static clinging.
