Avoid these clothing choices for a more comfortable flight

Flying requires appropriate clothing, and in this case, comfort is key. A popular wardrobe item is one of the worst possible choices, as a long-time American Airlines employee confirmed.

Air travel can be exhausting, especially on long flights. The proper attire plays a vital role here; it should be comfortable and breathable. American Airlines employee Andrea Fischbach explained which clothes are better to avoid.

In an interview with Lad Bible, Andrea shared how to dress for a flight. She warns against tight clothing, too much jewelry, and high heels. Each of these wardrobe elements is not only uncomfortable but also impractical. Prolonged sitting and changes in pressure can cause painful body swelling, which can last several hours after the flight.

- I travelled a lot growing up, and one rule my mother made me follow, that I continue to follow to this day, is to always have my body covered — she revealed.

Fischbach advised against wearing classic t-shirts. Why? There might be an emergency landing during the flight. In such a situation, inflatable slides can be deployed on board to transport passengers safely. While sliding, the t-shirt may ride up, and the contact of exposed skin with the rough surface of the slide can result in painful abrasions. Remember to layer with a tank top underneath if you want to wear a T-shirt.

What to wear on a plane?

The safest choice would be long and comfortable sweatpants, a tank top, a T-shirt, and a sweatshirt. Cozy sneakers or canvas shoes will work well when it comes to shoes. Also, don't forget about non-binding socks. It's worth taking flip-flops with you to move comfortably around the plane.
