Travellers warned: Avoid suitcase stickers and ribbons for smooth check-in
In the peak vacation season and amid busy airport traffic, travellers, fearing lost luggage, often try to mark it noticeably. To this end, they frequently tie identification ribbons to their luggage handles or cover the suitcase with stickers. However, an airport employee strongly advises against doing this.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced that preparations for one of the most hectic seasons in history are already underway.
This is a clear signal to tourists who, fearing increased traffic and chaos at airports during check-in, are looking for ways to secure their luggage before travelling.
As the number of passengers increases, so does the anxiety associated with the potential loss of items. For many people, tying a piece of ribbon or string is a cheap way to locate their luggage in the baggage hall.
However, an airport employee, quoted by the "DailyMail" portal, warns against such solutions.
Ribbons that people tie onto their suitcases to help identify them can cause issues with the bag being scanned in the baggage hall - says the employee of Dublin Airport.
The problem with scanning luggage can result in delays in getting the luggage on the plane, as the suitcase will have to be searched manually.
A similar problem occurs with suitcase stickers, which can also disrupt scanner reading. Therefore, it is best to remove them before travelling and clean the spot on the suitcase.
This notice is critical as many travellers will fly at various times with Eastern Time zones, such as Toronto (ET).
