TikTok, previously known as Music.ly, is a social media platform that quickly gained worldwide popularity. The app allows users to create, share, and view videos.
In the past, TikTok users mainly danced to popular songs. Nowadays, the content on the platform is much more diverse. You can find funny videos, content commentary, daily vlogs, trends, challenges, and more. Content posted on TikTok spreads at lightning speed across the internet. A new trend has emerged in the app. Who are Peanut Butter, Vanilla, Granola, or Soy boy?
Peanut Butter vs. Granola boy
The term Peanut Butter boy comes from the adult cartoon series "BoJack Horseman." In the 2014 animated series, one of the main characters was a dog named Mr. Peanutbutter. The character appears positive and friendly on the surface, but deep down, he is immature and superficial. In one episode, the character cheats on his girlfriend, who is much younger than him. Throughout the series, we observe that his wide smile is just a façade to maintain the appearance of an ideal life. He does most things for applause.
Granola boy is the complete opposite of Peanut Butter boy. This type of man is highly desired and described as the ideal. Many swoon over tall brunettes with athletic builds. TikTok users suggest he could have a dad-type mustache. Additionally, he should follow fashion trends - oversized shirts, sweaters, or hoodies bought from second-hand stores are definitely his thing. His interests include all outdoor sports, and his diet is strictly plant-based.
Vanilla boy vs. Soy boy
Vanilla boy is a true traditionalist. This man cares about harmony in the relationship and is good to his partner, but nothing beyond that. He is ordinary, stable, and never deviates from the norm. He strives to create an exemplary and textbook relationship, leaving no room for spontaneity. For some, he will be the perfect husband candidate, while for others, he will repel boredom.
It was once believed that soy affects masculinity in men. Consuming products like soy milk or tofu feminizes them. Although no scientific evidence supports this claim, the term Soy boy has appeared online. This term refers to men who lack stereotypically masculine traits. This type of guy is very gentle, emotional, and sensitive in relationships.
