The weather has been playing some serious tricks lately. A large part of our country is preparing for record-breaking rainfalls. The Croatian Hydrometeorological Service (DHMZ) has also warned about rain and storms on the entire coast. The worst weather is expected in the areas of Rijeka, Gospic, Knin, Split, and Dubrovnik.
Everyone was looking in one direction
Recently, an interesting phenomenon has been recorded off the Croatian coast. Waterspouts have appeared there. This extraordinary natural spectacle was observed, among other places, between Peljesac and Korcula. The characteristic funnel rising above the water could also be seen in Primosten and the village of Viganj.
- One formed and remained for about 15 minutes. It moved towards the islands and then disappeared somewhere on the horizon - said one of the observers, quoted by Croatian portal 24sata.hr.
One of the waterspouts was also observed by a tourist from Poland, quoted by TVN Meteo. - Suddenly, a funnel appeared from above and connected with the water vapour at the water's surface. We couldn't believe it. It was moving towards the land but stopped at the cape and dissipated - reported Ms. Joanna.
