The topic of Vladimir Putin's body doubles has been circulating in the media for many years. Due to his actions on the international stage and domestic political decisions, the Russian president has become the subject of much speculation.
Some claim that Putin uses body doubles to protect himself from potential attacks, while others believe it's a way to avoid recognition during secret operations.
A few months ago, some media outlets suggested that Vladimir Putin regularly uses body doubles. For example, the Moscow Times reported that the Russian president fears attacks, which could explain such behaviours.
Now, Anton Herashchenko, an advisor to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs, has spoken on this topic.
Putin in Baku looks different than Putin at the Security Council meeting a few days ago, right? - wrote the Ukrainian politician, attaching a photo of the leader and two short videos to his post.
Experts differ on the truth of these claims. Krystyna Kurczab-Redlich, the author of Vladimir Putin's biography, emphasizes that although the president's fears may be justified, there is no hard evidence of his regular use of body doubles.
In her opinion, Vladimir Putin is panic-stricken that someone might carry out an attack on him, which could explain his paranoid behaviour.
It is worth mentioning that Putin is not the only leader about whom similar rumours circulate. In the past, for example, Kim Jong-un of North Korea was also suspected of using body doubles.
