- The Armed Forces groupings are conducting an offensive operation towards Kursk. During the offensive in the Kursk region, the armed forces advanced into the territory defended by the opponent by a distance of 27 to 35 kilometres - announced Syrskyi, presenting Ukrainian progress on the map.

According to Syrskyi, the enemy is using manoeuvre defence, trying to prevent further advancement of Ukrainian units, and is also forming new military formations and transferring forces from other directions.

- Further actions of our troops (in the Kursk region) will directly depend on the development of the operational situation - the commander announced.

"The biggest investment" of Ukraine

Previously, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the Ukrainian military offensive deep into the Kursk region "the biggest investment," providing an opportunity to ensure the return of Ukrainian prisoners of war to their homes.

As reported by Reuters, Zelensky appealed to Western allies to allow the use of the weapons they provided to attack targets deep within Russia. He explained that the lack of consent from Western countries in this regard is causing problems for the Ukrainian army, particularly in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces have recently made progress.
