Ukrainian command established in the occupied Kursk region
The Ukrainian army has established its own military command in the part of the Kursk region in Russia that it has occupied, Ukraine's armed forces' commander-in-chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi said on Thursday. General Eduard Moskalov will head the body.

—To maintain law and order and ensure the urgent needs of the population in the controlled territories, a military commandant's office was created. Major General Moskalev was appointed as its head — Syrskyi said during a meeting of the state's highest leadership chaired by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The administration will be located in Sudzha, which is occupied by Ukrainian forces.
The commander-in-chief reported that since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian forces have advanced up to 1.6 kilometres into the Kursk region and currently control 1,150 square kilometres of Russian territory.
