The Ukrainian military uses HIMARS launchers to attack Russian territory, reports "The Telegraph." Kyiv does not comment on the matter.

"Russia’s ministry of defence and Russian military bloggers have reported that HIMARS, long-range artillery, were fired by Ukraine at Russia on Saturday evening," reports "The Telegraph." This would mean that the Ukrainians started the shelling just one day after the U.S. permission.

According to Russian sources, around 10 missiles launched from HIMARS were intercepted over the Belgorod region. There were, among other things, photos of rocket debris.

The British newspaper emphasizes that Kyiv has not commented on the reports yet. The Unian agency assesses that Ukrainians choose "silence mode."

Green light from the USA

On May 31, the United States permitted Ukraine to use American weapons to attack targets on Russian territory. The U.S. reacted this way to the events in the Kharkiv region, where the Russians initiated an operation.

However, the lifting of the ban has limitations. Ukrainians can only attack targets near the Kharkiv region's border, and bombers stationed deep within Russia are outside the range.
