According to the latest report by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in response to intense bombings and aggressive offensives from Russia, Ukrainian forces have decided to conduct maneuvers involving relocating their units to more strategic positions in the Lyukian and Wowczansk regions, located in the Kharkiv Oblast.

"In some sectors in the Lyukian and Wowczansk areas, due to fire and assault actions by the enemy, to save the lives of our soldiers and avoid losses, units have performed a maneuver and moved to more favourable positions," reads the official statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The battle continues. Ukrainian units are preventing Russian invaders from gaining a foothold. Counterattacks are being carried out; the enemy is under constant fire control from our artillery and defence forces," it added.

The Staff also reports on successful counterattacks. "During the military actions in this direction today, enemy personnel losses amount to 162 soldiers, with 26 units of weapons and military equipment being destroyed or damaged," it reports.

Ukraine expects an attack in the Sumy Oblast

Before this information, General Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukrainian military intelligence HUR, made a statement regarding the situation at the front.

According to him, Ukrainian forces seem to be close to stabilizing the situation after Russia's ground attack in the Kharkiv Oblast. However, General Budanov warned that the Russian troops were gathering near the Sumy Oblast in the north, which could indicate further military actions.
