Ukraine downs Russian helicopter with drone, forces emergency landing
The Ukrainian army successfully shot down a Russian Mi-8AMTSh helicopter using an FPV drone. As a result of the attack, the Mi-8 was forced to make an emergency landing. The crew was unharmed.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces successfully shot down a Russian Mi-8AMTSh helicopter using an FPV drone. The machine suffered severe damage and was forced to make an emergency landing. The FPV drone was said to have struck the Mi-8's tail rotor.
A Russian military volunteer group with the call sign “PIONEER” on Telegram confirmed the incident.
Recently, our helicopter flew out from under very heavy fire. Due to some control function violations, a decision was made to land in a safe place. The landing was very difficult, but there were no casualties, and the crew was unharmed!"—reads a post on Telegram.
Ukraine doesn't stop
In his Sunday statement, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian armed forces do not plan to stop their advance in the Kursk region on Russian territory.
- Our progress in the Kursk region is from 1 to 3 kilometres. We have taken control of two more settlements, and active actions are underway towards another settlement, emphasized Zelensky.
