"Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a "shooter," or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else. Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee, as scheduled, at 3:30 P.M. TODAY. Thank you! DJT," wrote the former president.
Unsuccessful assassination attempt on Donald Trump
Former U.S. President Donald Trump was injured during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday. Trump fell to the ground during his speech, holding his head, and was then escorted to his car by the Secret Service.
A bullet grazed Donald Trump. The bullet that passed by Trump hit a 50-year-old firefighter who was standing near the former president. The man died on the spot. The authorities then shot the attacker. Two people were injured.
Trump's campaign team announced that they would increase security measures. They assured that the National Republican Convention in Milwaukee would proceed as planned.
They emphasized that during this event, they will officially nominate our president to be the brave and fearless party candidate in the presidential elections scheduled for November 5th.
