Trump edges lead in battleground states as election nears
According to new polls ahead of the presidential elections in the United States, Donald Trump, the Republican Party candidate, has gained a slight lead over Kamala Harris in the states of Georgia and Arizona. On the other hand, the Democrats have taken the lead in North Carolina.
According to the survey published on Thursday by YouGov for CBS, Trump leads Harris in Arizona with a vote ratio of 51-48 percent.
In the Quinnipiac University poll, whose results were announced on Wednesday, Trump leads in Georgia with 52 to 45 percent of the votes. Meanwhile, Harris has a slight advantage in North Carolina, with 49 percent to 47 percent.
An extremely tight race
With less than three weeks before the elections, emotions are reaching a peak, and the race for the highest office in the United States remains extremely tight. "Forbes" magazine assesses that these polls only increase the tension in the campaign.
Let us recall that Kamala Harris was nominated as the Democratic presidential candidate after the incumbent, President Joe Biden, withdrew from the race at the end of July. He made this decision following an unsuccessful debate with Trump. Polls indicated that Trump would defeat Biden in most key states, influencing his withdrawal.
The presidential elections in the United States will take place on November 5.
