Going on vacation? Remember to pack your hair dryer. A well-known trichologist warns against using hotel equipment. "I don't risk it and always travel with my own hair dryer," she explains in a video posted on YouTube.

A hairdryer is one of the basic elements of hotel room equipment. You will find it in the bathroom, usually attached to the wall. This solution allows you to save valuable space in your luggage.

It turns out that using the hotel hair dryer does more harm than good. A moment of carelessness is enough for the device to damage your hair severely.

Every hotel room has clean towels, cosmetics, and a hair dryer. This solution saves a lot of space in our luggage thanks. It turns out that a hair dryer is a better thing to take with you, as the trichologist convinces you.

Olga Poniatowska is a cosmetologist and clinical trichologist known as @towietrycholog. She shares her knowledge about skin and hair care on TikTok and Instagram. More than 250,000 people follow her. In one recently published video, she showed the dangers of using a hotel hair dryer.

In the posted video, a woman is drying her hair with a hotel hair dryer. After a while, her hair got caught in the rotor. It couldn't be pulled out because the device had no back cover. The woman had to ask the hotel staff for help, who cut open the equipment. The caught strands were completely damaged.

The trichologist explained that most hotels offer only such hair dryers. She advised taking your own device. "I don't risk it and always travel with my own hair dryer," she confessed. "There are few like that; most hotels I've been to have hair dryers that looked like they came from Ali for $12," "I always take my hair dryer. Heck, it travels with me 2,000 kilometres, and I can't imagine it any other way," read the comments.

How to choose a hair dryer?

In recent years, there has been much talk about hair dryers' harmfulness. This is a myth because the device smooths strands and gives hair volume. However, it all depends on the specific model. It is worth choosing one equipped with a cool air function and ionization.

Drying at a lower temperature will not damage your hair; ionization will prevent it from frizzing and becoming static. If you often travel, look for a travel hair dryer. The device has a foldable handle, so it doesn't take up space in your luggage.
