The surface of the toilet seat tends to show stains and streaks despite regular cleaning with detergents. Unfortunately, not all bathroom cleaners can effectively remove these stubborn stains. However, there is a home method that costs just a few dollars. These two products will renew the toilet seat in no time.
How to clean the toilet seat?
If your toilet seat has stains and streaks, you don’t need to buy unique and expensive chemical detergents. All you need are products you probably already have at home: toothpaste and citric acid.
Mix toothpaste and citric acid together. Apply the resulting mixture to the most stubborn stains on the seat and leave it for about 30 minutes. After that time, scrub the entire toilet seat thoroughly and wipe it dry.
Attention! When cleaning the toilet seat, it is best to use regular white toothpaste. Black toothpaste with added charcoal is not recommended.
This product will handle a yellow toilet seat
Another equally effective method for cleaning the toilet seat and removing yellow stains is using a trick with shaving foam. Simply apply the foam to all dirty areas and wait at least half an hour. Then, carefully wipe the seat with a cloth. And it's done!
Why are these methods the best? Citric acid removes yellow stains and streaks from the seat very well, while toothpaste effectively handles dirt on such surfaces. Shaving foam contains ingredients that deal with deposits and even limescale. It can also be used to clean other areas, such as faucets.
