Proper food storage, both in the fridge and on kitchen shelves, isn't always apparent to everyone. We often place food products without much thought, leading to them spoiling faster and losing their freshness. A well-known TikToker decided to share several methods with her followers that help keep food fresh for up to three weeks.

Katya Meckle, a wellness expert who runs a TikTok profile, educates internet users about healthy eating and food management. Recently, she presented her viewers with exciting ways to store food products. She pointed out that storing bread, bananas, berries, and lettuce can significantly extend their freshness. What's more, these are not time-consuming activities.

These simple tricks can extend the freshness of products

Meckle surprised internet users with simple yet effective methods to reduce food waste. She explained how to prevent products from spoiling so quickly. Particularly interesting for viewers was a trick that prevented the bread from drying out or moulding for three weeks. It requires a straightforward action: placing a celery stalk in the bread bag.

Additionally, Katya showed how to store popular fruits. She recommends wrapping the top part of the bananas with aluminum foil. Carrots and green vegetables should be stored in a water container, ensuring they are well-washed beforehand. This extends their usability period.

Meckle uses the same containers to store berries. Just before placing them in the containers, she washes the fruits in water with apple cider vinegar and waits until they dry. She then places a paper towel at the bottom.

Commenters appreciate the TikToker's ideas

TikTok users flooded Katya with positive comments, thanking her for the food storage tips. They admitted they hadn't used similar methods before and often wasted food and ended up in the trash. Now, they see the difference when storing products properly. Many people are saving a lot of money with these simple methods.

Some also shared their food storage methods. One user suggested storing bread in the freezer.

As one commenter noted, bread can last up to a month this way. When she wants a slice, she takes it out the day before and defrosts it.

Many interesting pieces of advice on TikTok are worth implementing daily. Importantly, they cover a variety of fields, including home maintenance, gardening, and everyday simple activities.
