Pre-election fever is in the United States. Tonight, the first debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris will occur. A poll published just before the debate indicates that this clash could be crucial for the November presidential election results in the USA.

The pre-election debate will begin tonight (10/11.09) around 9:00 PM Eastern Time. The clash between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris could be significant for the presidential election results in the USA. Let's recall that Americans will go to the polls on November 5th.

Why will the pre-election debate be so significant? As shown by polls published by CNN, the Republican and Democratic candidates are "neck and neck". Currently, the current Vice President of the USA is slightly ahead.

In the first poll, Kamala Harris can enjoy the support of 49% of respondents. This is the average support for the candidate between August 23 and September 6. Meanwhile, Donald Trump received 48% of the votes. The CNN Poll of Polls conducted the survey.

Meanwhile, a poll published on Monday (09.09) by the Pew Research Center indicates a tie. Harris and Trump both enjoy 49% support. The Democratic candidate's lead is within the margin of error.

Debate in the USA: a clash for the presidency

Experts do not doubt that tonight's debate could significantly influence the course of the elections in the United States. Democrats claim it's a "clash between a young prosecutor and an old criminal," referring to the convictions hanging over the former US president.

Republicans, on the other hand, are convinced that Donald Trump will defeat Kamala Harris in a direct clash. They believe their candidate will present "even better than in the clash with Joe Biden." Let's add that shortly after the debate, the current president announced he would not seek re-election.
