Simple strawberry cake. Tastes like grandma's
Moist, sweet, fruity, and laden with excessive crumble. Is there anything better than Grandma's strawberry cake? The taste of summer encapsulated in a simple, fluffy, and moist bake draws you in from the first bite. There are no 'fancy' or expensive ingredients here. Most likely, you already have everything you need in your kitchen cabinet.
The heart of this bake is a simple, crumbly dough filled with juicy strawberries and creamy pudding filling. The whole thing is topped with a sweet, buttery crumble that adds pleasant sweetness and crunchiness. We recommend making it with a double portion — half of the tray will disappear immediately after baking.
Strawberry cake with crumble — recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour,
- block of butter,
- cup of sugar,
- vanilla sugar,
- 2 eggs,
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder,
- 500 grams strawberries,
- 1 tablespoon potato starch,
- 2 packages of pudding mix,
- 750 ml milk.
Preparation:
- Place butter, eggs, and sugar in a large bowl. Blend everything into a smooth and fluffy mass. Add flour, vanilla sugar, baking powder, and knead the dough.
- Divide the mass into two parts and put them in the freezer.
- Wash, dry, and dice the strawberries. Sprinkle them with potato starch to prevent releasing too much juice during baking.
- Pour 500 ml of milk into a pot. Boil it.
- Mix the remaining milk with the pudding and pour it into the pot. Cook the mixture for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
- Take out the dough. Use the first half for the base. Pour the cooled pudding into the form and add the diced strawberries. Cover with the remaining dough.
- Place the form in an oven preheated to 180°C. Bake the cake for 45-55 minutes until it becomes golden. Enjoy!
