Do you have rough, dry heels and don't know how to help yourself? While using a pumice stone might seem to remove the calluses, it only worsens the problem. However, there is a method that does not require scrubbing and will smooth out the skin. You only need one thing.

Summer is the time when we eagerly show off our feet. We wear flip-flops, sandals, or thongs. Many avoid these shoes because of cracked and dry skin on their heels, which often causes insecurities. How do you restore smoothness? Reach for a product that is usually applied to the face. Use it before bedtime; you will notice a difference after a few days.

Rough and dry skin on the feet is a common problem that affects everyone. It results from neglecting this skin area, requiring regular exfoliation and moisturizing. Wearing ill-fitting shoes can further exacerbate it.

In such a situation, most of us reach for a pumice stone. This is a natural volcanic stone with a rough surface that is used to rub the skin to remove calluses. Podiatrists and cosmetologists advise against using pumice stones due to possible damage and risk of infection. Worse yet, frequent use of a pumice stone causes the skin to grow back even thicker and stronger.

So, how do you restore smoothness to your feet? Reach for glycolic acid. It is a product with softening and intensive exfoliating properties. You can buy it at any pharmacy for CAD 15 to CAD 30. Moisten a cotton pad with it, rub it on clean feet, then apply a moisturizing cream and put on socks. Repeat the procedure daily; after a few days, you'll notice that your feet have become much smoother.

Want to speed up the exfoliation effect? Prepare a homemade foot soak that will deeply moisturize and soften the skin and eliminate unpleasant odours. How to make it? Take a large bowl and fill it with very warm water. Add 3 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of oatmeal, a few drops of sandalwood or mint essential oil, and a teaspoon of olive oil or another oil. Soak your feet in the prepared soak for 15-20 minutes. Repeat the procedure once a week, and you will forget about callused feet.
