Summer heat can be a nuisance outside and in your home or car. Every method to endure high temperatures is invaluable. One method allows you to effectively and quickly lower the temperature in the vehicle without using air conditioning. It requires performing just a straightforward action.

How does the temperature rise in the car on a hot day?

The interior of a car left in full sun heats up rapidly. When it's 24°C (75°F) outside, the inside of the vehicle quickly reaches 34°C (93°F). In less than 30 minutes, the temperature inside can exceed 40°C (104°F), and on the hottest days, it can even reach 60°C (140°F).

That’s why you shouldn’t even leave children or pets in the vehicle for a moment. Just sitting in such a hot vehicle is also unpleasant. You’ll likely be sweaty before you even turn on the air conditioning. Cooling the car this way takes a lot of time and energy.

How to cool down a car?

While looking for ways to endure the heat, it's worth paying attention to the methods used by people living in countries with warmer climates than ours. From them comes a technique that allows you to cool your car quickly. When the car's interior is sweltering, open the driver's side window. Then, get to the other side of the vehicle, open the passenger side door, and slam it dynamically. The harder you hit the door, the better the effect.

Why does this trick work?

Why does slamming the door help cool the car’s interior? The whole process may look a bit strange and is quite noisy. Is it worth risking the puzzled looks of passers-by? In our opinion, yes. The principle of this method is straightforward. Slamming the door causes airflow that pushes hot air out of the car through the open window on the other side. As a result, it gets cooler inside. You can repeat this trick a few times to increase its effectiveness.
