A lot was going on around the first season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" on Prime Video. First, legends were circulating on the internet about billions of dollars spent on the rights for the adaptation and the production itself. Then, when the first episodes appeared, the crew had to respond to racist comments about the series' characters. And although negative reviews multiplied, the creators of "The Rings of Power" could open champagne. The viewership of the first season reached over 100 million viewers worldwide, who spent 533 million hours in front of the screens. The series attracted over 25 million viewers on its first day alone, becoming the biggest premiere in Prime Video's history.
"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" returns with a second season. Here is the trailer
The new trailer for the second season of "The Rings of Power" is already making rounds on the internet. Its original English version on YouTube was viewed 15 million times in a few days. Among the comments, you can find those where netizens admit that the trailer looks better than the entire first season. It is also clear that the second instalment of Sauron's struggle for power will bring significantly more action scenes.
What can you expect? Prime Video states: "This season features the long-awaited Siege of Eregion, a definitive battle in J.R.R. Tolkien’s history of the Second Age of Middle-earth, from which not everyone makes it out alive. The banners are raised, and the devastating war against Sauron is just beginning."
In the series's second season, we will see Sauron return. Banished by Galadriel, without an army or allies, the rising Dark Lord must rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, allowing him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his will. As friendships are tested and kingdoms begin to crumble, the forces of good - elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots - will fight ever more fiercely to preserve what is most important to them: each other.
The first three episodes of the second season of "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" will debut on August 29, 2024. Subsequent episodes will air weekly until the season finale, which is scheduled for October 3.
