Savour the guilt-free delight of homemade baked chicken nuggets

We've long been operating under the assumption that if you're going to eat nuggets, this is the only way to go. They are definitely healthier than the ones we know from eating out, while also delighting us with fantastic flavor. No one has yet been found who doesn't like them. Are you up for the challenge?

We'll say it loud and clear. We love eating nuggets. At the same time, we are aware that this opinion, unpopular among people who prioritize a healthy diet, may cause some controversy. Does this mean we enjoy that monstrous mixture of mechanically separated poultry meat (MSP) and other suspicious ingredients from American fast food chains? NO! We prepare nuggets ourselves at home, from real chicken, not chicken tendons, skins, and nails. And, importantly, our nuggets are baked, not fried. Doesn't that sound much better now?

If you also like to eat breaded chicken but don't want to feel guilty about it, we invite you to try the recipe below. This recipe is a real treasure, and we use it very often. We bet you will start doing the same soon!

Baked nuggets in a crunchy coating

Ingredients:

  • 1 double chicken breast,
  • 4 cups of cornflakes,
  • 1 cup milk,
  • 1/2 cup wheat flour,
  • 2 tablespoons oil,
  • 1 egg,
  • 1 tablespoon sweet paprika,
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper,

  1. Crush the cornflakes (pay attention to their ingredients; you don't need them to contain a large amount of sugar). You can, for example, put them in a container and crush them with a potato masher.
  2. Place the milk, flour, egg, and spices in a bowl and mix. Cut the chicken into pieces that suit you and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  3. Now dip the meat in the prepared batter and coat it in the flakes. Then, place each piece on a baking sheet. Of course, you must first lay baking paper on the sheet. Finally, drizzle your nuggets with a small amount of oil.
  4. Place the sheet in the oven preheated to 200°C (392°F). Bake for about 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!

Get ready to savor a delicious yet healthier version of a popular comfort food, baked to perfection with a crunchy coating.
