Recently, it was also reported that the village of Krynki, located in the Kherson region, came under Russian control. The occupiers shelled Ukrainian positions, causing the soldiers to withdraw and leading to significant damage. Experts indicated that casualties on the Ukrainian side could have amounted to even a thousand people.
The Russians took Krynki on the first day of the invasion, February 24, 2022. However, in October 2023, Ukrainian forces gained a foothold in Krynki. Since then, Russia has been constantly trying to push Ukrainian soldiers out of there.
Meanwhile, the propaganda outlet RIA Novosti, also citing reports from the Ministry of Defence, reported that the capture of the two towns was carried out by units of the "Zapad" military group.
At this moment, Ukraine has not responded to the reports provided by the Russian Ministry of Defence.
