Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports raise international concerns
The Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister, Andriy Sybiha, reported in Ankara that Russia is intensifying attacks on Ukrainian port infrastructure on the Black Sea. As a result of the recent attacks, four civilian ships have been damaged.

Sybiha, who served as Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey from 2016 to 2021, appealed during a press conference held after he met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, requesting support in stopping Russian attacks on Ukrainian ports. He mentioned that the discussion with Fidan focused on restoring stability and security in the Black Sea and ensuring freedom of navigation.
He reported that "since the beginning of autumn," four civilian ships carrying grain, corn, and humanitarian cargo intended for Palestinians have been damaged due to Russian attacks.

The Turkish Foreign Minister emphasized that the war in Ukraine should be resolved through negotiations and based on solutions derived from international law.
Ankara maintains good relations with both Moscow and Kyiv and is involved in initiatives concerning the export of Ukrainian grain. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has proposed that Turkey become a platform for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. Turkey's close relations with Russia complicate its ties with the West.
