You're probably familiar with a situation where your stomach and your family's taste buds demand something delicious. Still, you have little time for long baking sessions with complicated cakes. Well, let me tell you, such moments are nothing new to me, and I've always had to deal with this type of time deficiency. Does that mean that the only sweets I'll enjoy are the ones that cost a fortune at the nearby confectionery? Not.

Dealing with these circumstances can be an enjoyable experience. The milk and biscuit dessert, for which you will find the recipe below, takes me just fifteen minutes to prepare, and the oven does the rest. I haven't seen a better recipe for a quick cake yet. Try it yourself and let me know if you have the same impression!

Milk and biscuit dessert

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams (7 ounces) biscuits,
  • 750 milliliters (3 cups) milk,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 125 milliliters (1/2 cup) sugar,
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice,
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract,
  • caramel sauce (see here).

Instructions:

  1. Crumble the biscuits by hand and then pour them into the blender bowl. Add the eggs, milk, and sugar. Also, pour some lemon juice (it is better not to overdo it) and vanilla extract for flavour.
  2. Blend everything until you get a pleasant, reasonably smooth, uniform mixture.
  3. Prepare two baking moulds, one larger and one smaller. Wrap the smaller one in aluminum foil on the outside. Pour some caramel sauce inside, followed by the entire prepared mixture, and level it out.
  4. Place the smaller mould inside the larger one. Pour water into the more extensive mould—about halfway up the height of the mould with the mixture.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes in a preheated 200°C (392°F) oven. Remove it, let it cool, add more caramel sauce, and enjoy!
