Heavy, tired, and swollen feet affect both women and men. They usually occur in the summer when temperatures exceed 25 degrees Celsius. This is related to water retention in the body. The body protects from dehydration by storing water, which typically accumulates around the feet.

Swelling is also exacerbated by a sedentary lifestyle, drinking alcohol, lack of physical activity, an unbalanced diet (e.g., consuming too little water), taking certain medications, or illnesses.

There's a way to make your feet feel like themselves again. Prepare a homemade foot bath. You only need three ingredients, which you likely already have at home.

Add to water and soak your feet. The swelling will disappear like magic

Many people neglect their feet, forgetting about regular care. Everything changes with the arrival of summer when we switch from shoes or sneakers to sandals or open-toe slides. Dry skin on the feet doesn't look too good.

The real problem starts when the feet begin to swell. This is an entirely natural phenomenon resulting from the body's reaction to high temperatures. How can you get rid of swollen feet? In stores and drugstores, you'll find plenty of products that constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling. However, there is another method. It costs pennies and has immediate effects.

This method is a foot rinse based on baking soda and vinegar, such as spirit or apple cider vinegar. Baking soda softens and brightens the skin, while vinegar reduces swelling and exfoliates dead skin cells.

How to prepare this rinse?

It's straightforward. Fill a large bowl with warm, but not hot, water. Add half a cup of baking soda and half a cup of vinegar. Mix everything thoroughly, and soak your feet in the prepared mixture. Soak them for 15-20 minutes, and then rinse them with cold water. The swelling will go away immediately.

A baking soda and vinegar rinse will only work for people without cracked or chafed heels, as both ingredients could further irritate the skin. Use it whenever you feel your feet have become heavy and swollen.
