Mallorca. 11-year-old girl dies. Condolences expressed by prime minister
The tragedy has shaken the local community and the Irish people. The Prime Minister of Ireland, Simon Harris, has offered condolences to the girl's loved ones.
So sad to hear of the tragic loss of Clodagh Phelan. So much promise and personality snatched away in a terrible accident. Thoughts with her family and community at this truly awful time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam - the head of the Irish government wrote.
An investigation into the death of the eleven-year-old girl from Ireland is currently underway. The involvement of third parties has been ruled out. However, investigators will examine whether the balcony she was on was in proper technical condition. Unfortunately, this is not the first such tragic incident in Mallorca. In May this year, four people died and twenty-seven were injured as a result of the collapse of a terrace at the Medusa Beach Club. The cause was the overloading of the structure - at the time of the tragedy, there were too many people there.
