Macaulay Culkin joins the cast of the second season of "Fallout"
According to "Deadline," Macaulay Culkin, best known for his role as Kevin McCallister in the iconic "Home Alone" films, will star in the second season of the series "Fallout." Based on the popular video game series by Bethesda Game Studios, the production gained massive popularity after its premiere in April 2024, attracting over 65 million viewers within the first 16 days on Prime Video.
Culkin is expected to portray a character described as a "mad genius." While Prime Video has yet to officially comment on this information or reveal details about the role, fans are already speculating its significance for the storyline.
This is not Culkin's first collaboration with Prime Video. The actor recently lent his voice to a character in the first episode of the animated series "The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy." His recent performances, including his role in "American Horror Story: Double Feature" in 2021, have been highly praised by critics.
In "Fallout," Culkin will reunite with Walton Goggins, with whom he worked on the series "The Righteous Gemstones," where he played his son. Their reunion promises an interesting on-screen dynamic between the characters.
Filming for the second season of "Fallout" is expected to start in November. Although little is known about the new character played by Culkin, it is speculated that he might be connected to the mysterious scientists from the first season, potentially introducing new, intriguing plotlines to the series.
"Fallout" is set in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles of an alternate 1950s, where a nuclear war has decimated Earth, and humanity fights for survival in a world filled with radiation and mutants. Adding Culkin to the cast will undoubtedly boost interest in the upcoming season, especially since the media has been following his return to pop culture in recent years. Everyone surely remembers the reports about the actor's struggles. His parents' divorce, alcohol and drug addiction, and legal problems—all pulled him down. Then there was the family tragedy when his sister died in front of him, something Kieran Culkin recently talked about.
