Aleksandr's mission brought him immense popularity. In 2019, he embarked on his journey from Yakutia to Moscow by foot, intending to "drive out the evil spirit of Putin from the Kremlin." This bold act, however, was met with resistance.
His mission was to dethrone Vladimir Putin
Initially accompanied only by dogs, Aleksandr's journey gradually attracted followers. This march was extensively covered online, financially backed by donors nationwide, and welcomed by the residents of Siberia.
During winter, the shaman trekked through Yakutia, and then, alongside his group, he crossed Buryatia. Upon reaching the border with the Irkutsk region, Russian authorities detained him and took him to Yakutia for detention - as Biełsat, a Belarusian station, reported.
Detained and Hospitalized by Russian Authorities
A criminal case was launched against the shaman for inciting extremist activities. Ultimately, he was released with the stipulation that he remain at his residence.
According to Biełsat in 2019, Shaman Gabyszew was arrested and by 2021, he was forcibly admitted to a psychiatric clinic.
On January 12, 2021, marking his third attempt, he declared his intention to march to Moscow to oust Putin. On January 27, a team comprising 50 officers from 11 different police units, alongside doctors, visited Aleksandr Gabyszew's home to conduct a compulsory psychiatric evaluation.
During this encounter, the shaman resisted, leading to the injury of one of the officers. Consequently, he was detained and faced charges of assaulting an officer.
